For non-corrosive liquids and gases on light duty service. Specific application examples are valve positioners, regulator outputs, DIY compressors, fire protection systems and light duty pumps. Control Instruments has been involved in the manufacture and distribution of pressure instrumentation in South Africa for over 50 years. Like the Bourdon tube, we intend to be an enduring feature in both the local and overseas markets. Control Instruments-Gauge Division operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of the Control Instruments Group of companies. Our head-office and factory is located in the Western Cape and we have a support network throughout South Africa with distribution facilities in some of the major world centres. We are a leading distributor of wholly South African made and designed gauges and we are very proud of the inroads our local products are making into the international market. We are continually striving to improve our service and product quality. In April 1991 we were awarded our SABS/ISO 9001 (quality management system) and SABS 1062 ratings for gauge performance, while our CSIR certified laboratory was specially constructed so that we could trace pressure accuracy to national standards and provide a much needed local, N.C.S. traceable, calibration service. As a direct result of our strong customer focus and orientation, we have led the way in such product innovations as colour coded plastic cased gauges (for additional safety and identification requirements), gauge repair facilitation and a unique liquid filling methodology with proper seal procedures in assembly. Also, our manufacturing facility and management systems are structured to help us produce short runs economically and to reduce turnaround times for our customers.
